| A Supremacy bet is a market based on how many
goals one team will beat another by. For example, BetHiLo may
predict that Man Utd will beat Chelsea by 0.7 to 1 goals. You
then have a choice to make:
Will Man Utd win by more than 1 goal, or will they draw, or Chelsea
win?
If you think that Man Utd will easily win, then you would "Bet
High" at 1 goal, for a stake of say £50 per goal. If
you're right and Man Utd win 3-0, their supremacy is 3 goals and
you would win (3 - 1) x £50 = 2 x £50 = £100.
On the other hand, if you were wrong and Chelsea hold them to
a draw, this results in a supremacy of 0. You would therefore
normally lose (0 - 1) x £50 = -1 x £50 = £50,
but this is a free bet so you lose nothing!
Equally, you may initially have thought that Chelsea could take
some points from the game, so you would "Bet Low" at
0.7 goals. If you're right and Chelsea win 2-0, the total Supremacy
would be 2 + 0.7 = 2.7, so you would win 2.7 times your stake
- again £50 would win you £135.
