Arsenal are back out to even money for this year's FA Cup after
they were pitted against rivals Manchester United in the semi
finals.
The Gunners were immediately shortened to 5/6 after their 5-1
quarter-final demolition of Portsmouth, but Monday's draw has
changed all that.
"With three Nationwide sides left in the draw there was
every likelihood that the big two would have had to beat each
other to win the cup anyway," said Victor
Chandler football odds man David Garbacz.
If Arsenal get past United at Villa Park it will be their fourth
consecutive FA Cup final appearance.
"The Gunners are hunting their third consecutive FA Cup
final victory - an incredible feat that they are well capable
of achieving if they maintain their sparkling form," added
Garbacz.
United are 11/8 to win the trophy.
The other semi sees Sunderland 6/1 take on the winners of the
quarter final replay between Tranmere 33/1 and Millwall 18/1.
The draw has also ensured that a Nationwide side will be playing
in Europe next season.
If Arsenal and Manchester United finish in the top four in
the league a Uefa Cup spot will go to either Sunderland, Tranmere
or Millwall.
