The blaze of publicity received by 'The Magic Numbers'
for walking off Top Of The Pops has at least had one positive
effect, as punters have piled in on them to win the Nationwide
Mercury Prize. As a result Bookmakers William Hill have been forced
to slim their odds from 8/1 to 6/1. The Kaiser Chiefs remain the
9/4 favourites to win the prize that will be announced on September
6th.
