Chandler make England narrow 11/8 favourites to get
the better of New Zealand in the forthcoming three Test series
that gets underway on May 20.
England will begin the series in confident mood after a highly successful recent tour of the West Indies that saw Michael Vaughan's men record an impressive 3-0 win in the Caribbean. The Kiwi attack is widely recognised as being stronger than the West Indies with pacemen Daryl Tuffey and Shane Bond and spinner Daniel Vettori capable of causing problems for the best batsmen in the world. And Vettori himself could lay claim being the architect of England's downfall the last time the Black Caps toured on English soil in 1999. The bespectacled spinner grabbed five wickets in the fourth and final Oval test to pave the way for New Zealand's 2-1 series success. The Kiwis are 6/4 with Chandler to again taste series success this summer. More recently both sides shared the Test spoils 1-1 when Nasser Hussain took England to New Zealand in 2001 for another four match series. Chandler offer 12/5 that honours will again end even. |
