Premiership Relegation Betting - Free Bets and Odds Comparison

FA Premier League Relegation Odds 2010/06 - Free Bets on Football from UK Bookmakers
premiership relegation The Premiership season seldom throws up any real surprise relegation candidates and the promoted teams first aim is to stay in the division for more than one season. It is often the case though that the three teams who come up fail to meet the Premiership standard and are relegated straight away.

Betting-wise, you might want to turn the table on its head and check out the odds for relegation. As was proved on the last day of the 2004/5 season, the battle to avoid the drop can be every bit as exciting as the quest for Premiership glory. All three promoted teams head the betting to go straight back down, but do you think there's someone else due for a fall?

Premiership: Promoted trio head rock bottom market

It’s a four-way fight to avoid the wooden spoon as far as VC Bet’s “who will finish bottom of the Premiership” market is concerned.

Newly promoted Wigan, West Ham and Sunderland are all quoted inside 7/2 to hit rock bottom by the end of the season with 4/1 West Brom also fancied to struggle.

”You’d have to believe that at least two of those four will be heading back to the Championship next year,” said VC Bet’s Nick Gray.

You need to jump four points to 8/1 Portsmouth for the next side fancied to finish bottom, with 12/1 Fulham, 16/1 Charlton and 33/1 Blackburn next in line.

”We’re the industry top price for Portsmouth to claim the spoon at 8/1 and we expect to see a fair amount of business about Alain Perrin’s side.”

Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Graeme Souness is VC Bet's favourite to be the first Premiership manager to leave his post over the course of the 2010/6 season.

"Expectations in the North-East are always sky high but with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United and now Liverpool on the scene it's hard to see Newcastle winning anything this season.

"If the Geordies get off to a bad start Souness will come in for some heavy criticism and that could be the end.

"Ominously their chairman has recently gone on record saying that Souness must bring success to the club."
