| The all-conquering Bradford Bulls are Victor
Chandler's Tetley Superleague favourites on the
eve of the season.
Brian Noble's side, who recently added the World Club Challenge
to their Superleague and Challenge Cup titles, opened up at
11/10 but have seen their price cut to 5/6 under punter support.
"They have so much class and definitely look the team
to beat at this stage," said the firm's rugby league man
Colin Dyer.
"But it will be interesting to see how they cope without
skipper Robbie Paul and star scrum half Paul Deacon, who are
both expected to miss the first few weeks of the season through
injury."
If money talks, Bradford's biggest challenge will come from
the Leeds Rhinos.
The Rhinos lost to the Bulls in last season's Challenge Cup
final and finished second to their Yorkshire rivals in the minor
Premiership.
"We began trading Leeds at 5/1 but they've been backed
in to 7/2 and are now our biggest liability," said Dyer.
Grand Final losers 7/2 Wigan share second favouritism with Leeds.
"It will be no surprise to see the Warriors there or thereabouts
this season. They have a talented young squad and should be
a better team for the signing of Danny Orr but on a negative
side they will miss Adrian Lam and skipper Andy Farrell until
they recover from knee injuries."
The price biggest mover on the firm's books is the Hull Sharks
who have been backed from 66s right down to 16/1.
Superleague outrights (Excl Play-Offs):
Bradford 5/6, Wigan 7/2, Leeds 7/2, St Helens 11/2, Hull 16/1,
Castleford 125/1, Warrington 125/1, London 200/1
Huddersfield 300/1, Wakefield 2,500/1, Widnes 2,500/1, Salford
10,000/1.
